This page provides samples of some of the different web sites created and maintained over the years. Most of these sites are still active and can be visited. When you visit them, they will pop-up in their own window. I hope you enjoy your visits.

Office of Graduate Studies
University of California, Davis

This website, the Graduate Program Information System was originally constructed as an internal application for the Office of Graduate Studies at the University of California, Davis. However, it now has a wider campus audience. This is a Cold Fusion application which uses MySQL as it's backend database. The purpose of the website is to provide faculty and staff relevant information about the more than 80 academic graduate programs at UC Davis and replace an Excel spreadsheet. The site contains active links which go to program websites, active e-mail links to faculty and staff, and the ability to generate custom reports. Some of the reports provide the user with a choice of html tables or Excel spreadsheets which they can use as "merge files" with MS Word.

Member Directory
Windsor Chamber of Commerce

Done in partnership with Sonoma Connection, this is another example of using Cold Fusion with MySQL databases in order to enhance the user experience. Here, the membership directory is generated from a MySQL database whihc is maintained though a different, password protected application designed for the Chamber staff (see below). Each member name is an active link which presents the available information for that member in a "child" window that will pop up.

Also included is a fully functional, Cold Fusion-based search engine which allows the visitor to hone their search based upon any combination of business category, location, and/or free form text.

On the left side of the window, the advertising is controlled by a Javascript module which is generated automatically, when Chamber staff change the advertising logos and information on the Administration web site. The advertising is clickable to the the advertiser's web site (if provided).

Windsor Chamber of Commerce
Data Administration

This is the data administration module for the Windsor (California) Chamber of Commerce. This is a Cold Fusion application that allows the Chamber staff to maintain their membership database via the web. As changes are made, they are instantaneously reflected in the public website. Data is stored in MySQL tables.

In addition to adding, modifying and deleting information, this module allows the Chamber staff to generate MS Excel spreadsheets with member information, either all members or specific subsets, for mailings or emails. The system also permits them to manage and place advertising on their public webpages.

Because the site is password protected, no link is available.

MC Building and Design

Web sites can be an inexpensive, yet valuable investment for small businesses. This website was created for a local designer/builder whose business neede to grow beyond "word-of-mouth". The site uses considerable graphics to portray the work performed on various residential and commercial building sites in and around Sonoma County, California. Because it is graphically rich, it relies upon small preview graphics in the "Portfolio" and the "Current Project" sections which, when clicked, provide the larger graphics for more detailed viewing.
